Step by step
- Go to your computer
- Open: System Preferences
- Select: Sharing
- Check "File Sharing" (if not already checked)
- Click + (plus) sign under the "Shared Folders" list
- Choose the folder with your videos
- Make sure that "Users" list includes the account with access to that folder
- Alternatively, it is recommended to add "Everyone" to the "Users" list
- Under "File Sharing: on" click "Options..." button
- Check the account that you've just added.
- Take note of that username, YOU WILL NEED IT later on.
- Find the "username" of your account (the one listed in the "Users" list)
- Open a Finder window and look for the house icon in the sidebar.
- Find the house icon identifing your home folder.
- The needed username is the same name as your home folder name.
- If you don’t see the house icon, choose Finder > Preferences, click Sidebar, then select your home folder under Favorites.
- You will need the username later on when you will be selecting the videos.
